This little rocker has AMAZING personality. It came to me painted dark red but the paint was chipped and stripping off. There are several “imperfections” on it but, honestly, I just couldn’t bring myself to repair them. There was so much history and character there. One of the handles shows extreme wear and is worn through all the way to the support rod but structurally, it is still secure. There are also teeth marks on the back where some little one used it to teethe. When I started sanding the chair, I realized that sections of the red paint weren’t coming off. At that point, I hadn’t decided what I was going to do with it so that helped me decide. I chose to leave the little chair as close to original as I could. You can still see red paint peeking through the dark, oiled finish at places. Structurally, the chair is safe for a child to sit in without any issues.
